History of the Association

The Akron Area Automobile Dealers' Association is a not-for-profit corporation established for the purpose of advancing and protecting the interests of automobile dealers, the buying public, and the automotive trade in the greater Akron-Canton area. 

Originally incorporated as a "corporation for profit" on December 14, 1927, the Akron Automobile Dealers Association, Inc. was later re-incorporated as the Akron Automobile Dealers' Association,  a non-profit corporation, on November 19, 1945. 

Today, the association's membership includes forty-five franchised new car dealerships in the Medina, Portage, Stark, and Summit county area. These members, along with fifteen (15) associate members, enjoy over 20 programs and services offered by the association.
